This is an online course aimed at anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer official at Boxing ACT Tournaments.

This course will provide the following information:

  • The Referee and Judges accreditation pathway
  • An overview of Boxing Australia and World Boxing
  • An introduction to:
    • The Competition Rules
    • Roles of a Weigh-in Official
    • Roles of a Gloving Steward
    • Roles of a Timekeeper
    • Roles of a Judge
    • Scoring a Bout
  • This course is the first step for eventual progression to Refereeing (if you wish to pursue that pathway).

Upon completion of this course, you will be invited to observe/shadow at least one tournament on a no-obligation basis. If you decide to commit to being an official, you will then be invited to future tournaments and slowly introduced into the officiating roles listed above including being a judge.

This course is open to Boxing ACT Members at no cost. If you are not currently a member, you are encouraged to sign-up through our registration portal. If you are primarily involved in the sport as an official, membership is free. If you are boxer or coach, then you must select the appropriate option and pay the applicable fee.
