Sports Entry Check (Interstate Clearance)
The Sports Entry Check (aka Interstate Clearance) is an essential step in ensuring all registered boxers are eligible to participate in the tournament.
All boxers who have registered to compete in the Australian Masters Games tournament MUST pass have interstate clearance from their State or Territory Member Association in order to compete in the competition.
Gaining Sports Entry (Interstate Clearance)
In order to be eligible to participate in this tournament boxers must be a registered member of a Member Association under Boxing Australia and have met all of the requirements of that Member Association to be granted clearance to box interstate.
Generally speaking, interstate clearance is only granted to boxers who (1) are registered members of that MA and are in good standing; and (2) are not under any medical suspension or any other suspension; and (3) are current in their annual medical and serology checks.
Boxers are encouraged to be proactive and engage with their respective MA's early to ensure that there won't be any issues in meeting the interstate clearance requirements when Boxing ACT calls for interstate clearances.
The Process
- The Boxer's Member Association grants "interstate clearance" to Boxing ACT by no later than 3pm AEST Tuesday 21 Oct 2025
For a majority of boxers, sports entry/interstate clearance will be conducted automatically with no actions required from the boxer.
Boxing ACT will notify each State/Territory Member Association of boxers who have registered for this event.
Member Associations will then confirm if interstate clearance is granted for their respective members.
Generally speaking, it is fairly common for final interstate clearance only to be granted several days ahead of a tournament. Boxing ACT has no control over when a Member Association chooses to provide their clearance information.
Boxers who are residents of the ACT and are registered with Boxing ACT will have their clearance assessed to the exact same sports entry check standards of interstate competitors but wont need to initiate an actual 'interstate' clearance request. This will be conducted by Boxing ACT officials automatically based on the Masters Games registration information.
If the Boxer's Member Association explicity states that interstate clearance is NOT granted for any reason, then the boxer will not be able to compete in the matched competition.
Boxing ACT officials may contact boxers/coaches directly if any clearance issues are identified which require action from the boxer or their coach. - "Last Chance" Sports Entry/Interstate Clearance - In-Person in Canberra on Tuesday 21 Oct 2025 between 3pm-5pm AEST
Boxers who are unable to gain interstate clearance prior to Tuesday 21 Oct 2025 are able to attend a 'last chance' sports entry check in person (or have their coach attend on their behalf with allof the boxer's documentation) on Tuesday 21 October 2025 from 3pm to 5pm at a venue to be confirmed.
Boxing ACT Officials will be able review the boxer's documentation and make one final attempt to contact the Boxer's Member Association to establish the status of that boxer's interstate clearance.
If the Boxer's Member Association explicity states that interstate clearance is NOT granted for any reason, then the boxer will not be able to compete in the tournament.
If the Boxer's Member Association does not respond to the interstate clearance request by the required time (at the sole discretion of the Tournament Technical Delegate), then the boxer will not be able to compete in the tournament.
