Sunday the 18th of May will be Boxing ACT’s first female development camp for 2025.
This camp is ideal for women at beginner to intermediate levels who want to develop their boxing skills in a structured, encouraging, and professionally supervised setting.
This Female Boxing Development Camp is designed to introduce and enhance fundamental boxing skills for women, emphasizing both individual technique and partner work. The camp provides a supportive and inclusive environment where participants can develop their boxing abilities under the guidance of experienced coaches.
It is a great opportunity to throw your gloves into the development pathways, not only with both Boxing ACT, but potential Boxing Australia development camps.
The camp will be held at Farquhar’s boxing gym in Mitchell from 11 am till 1 pm, under the guidance of two newly appointed ACT female development coaches, Lou and Flick.
You are required to be a member of Boxing ACT (or an affiliated member association) to be eligible to participate.
Please bring your gloves, mouthguard, headgear and water.
Key Features:
- Basic Skills Development:
Participants will learn and refine essential boxing techniques including punching skills, footwork, offensive and defensive manoeuvres, and proper stance. The training will cover fundamentals such as bag work, shadow boxing, and conditioning exercises to build strength, agility, and endurance. - Partner Work:
The camp incorporates partner drills and possibly controlled body sparring to develop timing, distance control, and reaction skills in a safe setting. - Experienced Coaching:
Coaches with extensive boxing backgrounds provide personalised instruction, teaching boxing IQ and strategies to help participants improve their ring performance and confidence. - Community and Networking:
The camp fosters camaraderie among female boxers, encouraging social connections and shared passion for the sport, which enhances motivation and learning.
