The
next Canberra tournament will be on Saturday 13 May, organised by the Canberra
Police and Citizens Youth Club. Venue is the PCYC, corner Watson St &
McKay Gardens, Turner. Phone 6247
0206 Bouts commence at 6pm.
Registered
boxers intending to compete must attend the weighin at 1pm and the pre-bout
medical exam at 5pm sharp. Bouts commence at 6pm.
All
boxers must have a current registration with the NSWABA i.e., you
must have sent in your renewal form and fee this year, have had your annual
medical exam, and have had your book updated and returned by the Registrar. Do
not leave this till the day of the tournament.
You
must bring your AIBA boxing record book with you to the weigh-in at
Turner PCYC at 1pm. To weigh in, boxers must have a currently registered ABA coach to work in their corner.
Coaches
are reminded that it is a requirement that you wear your NSWABA trainers badge
when you are working a boxers corner.
Boxers
competing must have with them a red and a blue singlet, and must wear
the appropriate colour singlet depending on the corner they are allocated.
This is essential for accurate judging, especially with the electronic scoring
method now in use. Wearing the correct colour singlet is a requirement,
not an option.
Volunteers needed
The
tournament organisers need volunteers to assist with preparation on the day,
and to handle tasks (eg gloving stewards) on
the night. To help out, contact Richard
Terry at the PCYC or call Tony Whelan on 0407 266920.
